We are proud to present our newest event: July 4th Playshop. This event is a multi-day, Israeli dance celebration located in the Washington, DC area. Participants from near and far will enjoy all day specialty dance sessions, without any teaching, and three evening marathons programmed by dance leaders from across the Nation!

We will dance together on a huge, beautiful, wood dance floor in the Hilton’s largest ballroom from Thursday, July 3, 2025 until Sunday, July 6, 2025!

Start and End Times

July 4th Playshop begins on Thursday evening, July 3, 2025, at 8pm and ends Sunday morning, July 6, 2025, around 6am after a full night of dancing.

Registration

  • Early bird registration prices end on April 15, 2025

  • Registration does NOT include meals and lodging

  • Registration includes all dance activities and general snacks

Food

Meals (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) will NOT be provided, however complimentary daily and midnight snacks will be kosher-style. Snacks will be served in a room separate from the dance hall. Please contact oop.register@gmail.com with any airborne anaphylactic allergies. At registration we will provide a list of local restaurants and grocery stores for your convenience.

Lodging

The Hilton is a 4-star hotel located centrally in Rockville, MD. The hotel has free WiFi in guest rooms, a business center, a fitness center, and many other amenities. 

  • We have a special group rate for our registrants at the Hilton: $125/per room/per night + taxes & fees. 

  • This special rate applies to 2 Queen Beds and 1 King Bed rooms. 

  • **Please note that the booking website may be preloaded with all of the available dates (July 1-8, 7 nights) for this rate. Please be sure to edit/adjust your dates prior to booking.**

  • All expenses accrued on the hotel room bill are the responsibility of the individual.

  • Please be sure to let us know if you are staying at the Hilton in your registration form.

  • The Hilton is conveniently located right across the street from the Metro station. This makes it super easy to travel by Metro downtown to see the live fireworks on Friday night in DC.

Transportation

The Rockville Hilton is relatively equidistant to Dulles (IAD), Reagan National (DCA), and Baltimore Washington International (BWI) airports. These airports are about a 45 minute drive away from the hotel, depending on traffic. 

  • If taking Metro, we recommend flying in to Reagan National airport (DCA) or Dulles airport (IAD). From DCA or IAD, you can take the Metro to the Twinbrook station (red line), which is immediately next to the hotel.

  • During the July 4th Playshop, all registrants park for free in the Hilton garage. Parking at the Hilton during non-event days (before and after) are the responsibility of the individual.

  • Please be sure to let us know if you require parking at the Hilton in your registration form. If you are staying at the Hilton but not using the group deal, please let us know so we can count you as our attendees.

COVID-19 Policy

Participants are strongly encouraged to take a quick COVID-19 test. This test should be taken on the morning of arrival at the event.

We expect that masks will be optional. However, we will follow federal, state, and local rules at the time of the event.

We don't anticipate any changes to the above policy; however if any changes are necessary, they will be communicated to all registrants.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be submitted to OOP. register@gmail.com. Any cancellation not submitted to this email will not be considered final.

  • Feb 1, 2025 - April 15, 2025 - $30 cancelation fee per person

  • April 15, 2023 - June 15, 2023 - $50 cancelation fee per person

  • After June 15, 2025 - NO REFUND

July 4th Playshop Team

The July 4th Playshop organizing team includes: Mona Atkinson, Adina Wollner, Joshua Rosenthal, and Josh Fields. These dance leaders have all served the Maryland Israeli dance community in leadership positions for over 30 years combined.
